Story Overview

In the year 2035, something strange happened. All the spacecraft beyond Earth's orbit suddenly went dark. Communication with Mars was lost. This became known as the "Great Disconnect." Any spaceship that traveled beyond 2000 kilometers above Earth just vanished, never to return.

For twenty years, we tried to find answers, but none were found. Space exploration was abandoned. Some believed an invisible force was keeping us trapped, punishing us for our greed. Fear and new beliefs spread, and space became a mystery we could no longer solve.

By the end of the 21st century, technology and robots had solved Earth's problems, making life easy. But with no challenges left, people grew bored. The "Great Disconnection" turned into an unsolved legend, and space travel was banned. Only robots were allowed to go, as every human mission had failed.

Yet, some refused to give up. A brave group of astronauts and scientists, calling themselves the "Cosmic Travelers," believed that exploring the unknown was what made life worth living.

Now, the question remains: how will the youth of the future, along with their robot friends, become the next Cosmic Travelers? What is waiting beyond Earth? What force cut us off from the universe? Who will be brave enough to find out?

Why are we doing this, and why Sci-Fi?

In China, most popular animated series are focused on martial arts and fantasy. There are very few sci-fi stories, and no major standout works in that genre.

On the international stage, sci-fi animation is widely loved. Shows like "Rick and Morty" and "Gravity Falls" from the U.S. have become hugely popular around the world, including in China, where they have many fans.

The sci-fi craze in China began with "The Three-Body Problem" and took off in 2019 with the movie "The Wandering Earth" by Liu Cixin. The huge success of this film showed the great potential for sci-fi in China.

Sci-fi stories can spark curiosity in children, and that curiosity can last a lifetime, driving them to explore and learn more about the world. In an age of endless entertainment, we want to create something truly different.
